Hillary McBride is a registered clinical counsellor and PhD candidate in Counseling Psychology at the University of British Columbia. Her work and research focus on women’s body/self relationships and body image development, among other areas. Her book, “Mothers, Daughters, and Body Image: Learning to Love Ourselves as We Are” was released this year. The book tells the story of her own recovery from disordered eating, her clinical work with women as they learn to love their bodies, and her academic research about the mother/daughter relationship and the messages we hear from women in our lives about our bodies.
